Three Lashker militants among five killed, one surrender in J
Srinagar, Nov 24 (UNI) Five persons, including three militants of Pakistan based Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT), were killed while one ultra surrendered along with arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir overnight.
A fierce encounter was going on between militants and security forces at Bandipora in north Kashmir district of Baramulla.
Official sources said the encounter ensued this afternoon after a joint search party of security forces and state police was attacked by the militants.
An official spokesman said that militants attacked a police patrol party at Hanzer in Marwah area of Doda district in Jammu region last evening. Police personnel also retaliated and in the fierce clash three LeT militants Mudassar alias Abu Hamza, Mohammad Irfan alias Abu Sohail and Mohammad Ismail alias Abu Qamair were killed. Two AK rifles, four magzines and one hand grenade were recovered from the slain militants.
An unidentified gunmen killed one Farooq Ahmad Dar at Bonzar, Tral, in south Kashmir district of Pulwama last night.
Militants later managed to escape, the official said.
A body of a woman was recovered at Kangan early this morning, he said.
A militant surrendered alongwith one AK rifle, three magzines, 90 rounds of ammunition, one binocular, one mobile phone, one hand grenade and one stamp of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) at Banihal.
