SpikeSource opens India centre, aim to triple number next year

Bangalore, Nov 24 (UNI) SpikeSource, a software company distributing and integrating open source applications across the enterprise has opened its development centre here to emerge as a centre for innovation where complete solutions were conceived developed and delivered.

SpikeSource Vice President Gajanana Hegde told UNI here today that the current strength of 36 at the Centre would triple by next year and plans were also on to start the marketing arm in India to help small and medium enterprises by the middle of 2007.

With Fidelity investments and Intel capital being part of the investing team the two year old California based Company worked with the best in class open source projects and Independent Software Vendors to bring their solutions to market on a common platform. It had developed Spikelgnite, a platform to enable powerful new open source solutions. For each solution SpikeSource selects the right open source components, integrates, builds and tests it before packaging them to create stacks that are optimised for the solution.

It supported extensively SuiteTwo, a business internet suite announced recently by Intel. The Suite to be developed in collaboration with several software companies, including SpikeSource was an integrated suite offering interconnected services combined to improve productivity and enable high engagement marketing. SpikeSource would provide the integration platform for the product.
