Services bowled out for 346

Cuttack, Nov 24 (UNI) A fine spell by Spinner Saurav Sehgal (four for 74) and Sanjaya Satpathay (two for 77) helped hosts Orissa to restrict Services to 346 all out on the second day of plate group Ranji Trophy match against Services at the Barbati stadium here today.

In reply, Orissa were 71 for two at the close of day.

Services, who were in strong position on 249 for three yesterday, lost wickets at regular intervals to the left arm spin of Sehgal and off spinner Satpathy combine.

The Services batsmen could add only 97 runs to their overnight total, bulk of which was hit by Yaspal Singh.

Yaspal, who had hit a brilliant century yesterday and was 112 not out, continued to play fluently before he was dismissed for 154.

On the other hand, the other overnight batsman Sanjay Verma who was 60 not out, could add only one run to his score today.

Rest of the Services batsmen fell cheaply and the team was bundled out for 346.

Orissa, however, had a bad start losing former Test opener Shiv Sundar Das for 10 and Bikash Pati for five runs. Niranjan Behera and Subit Biswal batted with caution till the close of play and were 39 and 10 respectively.
