PDP condemns grenade attack on Mian Qayoom

Srinagar, Nov 24 (UNI) The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a ruling coalition partner in Jammu and Kashmir, today strongly condemned the grenade attack on senior lawyer and Bar Association president Mian Abdul Qayoom near his residence here on Wednesday.

Expressing shock over the attack, a PDP spokesman said such acts seem to be aimed at depriving the Kashmiris of the guidance of the intellectual section.

He said the incident should be considered as an attack on the intellectual society. ''All of us need to rise above partisan lines and condemn such acts and resolve to fight unitedly against such nefarious designs,'' the spokesman added.
