Pandhit Shantinath Jain passes away

Kopergaon, Nov 24 (UNI) A noted scholar, astrologer and propagator of Jain religion Pandit Shantinath Shivram Jain died here today after he suffered a massive heart attack.

He was 79, and is survived by wife, three sons and one daughter.

Jain, who was the founder of a temple for Digambar Jains here, had helped spread the religion in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

He was also bestowed with 'Jyotish Visharad' and 'Hora Bhushan' awards.

The funeral was held here in the mid-morning.
