Naxals gun down Cong leader
Guntur, Nov 24 (UNI) Taluk Praja Parishad member and Congress leader T Ramireddy (60) was gunned down by outlawed Maoists at his residence in Vinukonda town, in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh today.
According to official sources Vinukonda is a Naxal strong hold.
Mr Ramireddy was entering his house after collecting newspaper when two motorcycle born Naxals shot him from close range.
By the time the neighbours tried to stop them the assailants escaped.
Mr Ramireddy was in the hit list of Maoists. He was living in Vinukonda town for security reasons. He was a member of Bollapalli Taluk Praja Parishad, a bastion of Naxals.
