MP Cong to take up ryots' cause

Bhopal, Nov 24 (UNI) The Congress' Madhya Pradesh unit today announced that sit-ins and demonstrations would take place at every district and block headquarters tomorrow in protest against alleged non-availability of seeds, manure and electricity for irrigation to peasants.

''The kharif crop was ruined by downpours and flooding. As a result, the cultivators pinned hope on the rabi crop but the farmers are vexed by non-availability of manure, seeds and power,'' Pradesh Congress Committee General Secretary Incharge Deepchand Yadav, who is also the media incharge, said in a release issued here.

Alleging exodus from villages, he added that memoranda addressed to Governor Balram Jakhar would be submitted to the officials concerned.
