Law needs changes to tackle terrorism
New Delhi, Nov 24 (UNI) Union Minister for Law and Justice H R Bhardwaj today said that law need changes to tackle terrorism.
Coming close on the heels of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's reported silence over strong pitch for more effective anti-terror law by Intelligence Bureau Chief ESL Narasimhan, Law Minister has added to clamour for anti-terror law.
Speaking at international conference on ''criminal justice under stress: Transnational perspectives,'' the Law Minister also touched upon the need for a comprehensive shift from the current criminal law model being followed in India.
Bhardwaj said that the criminal judicial system was caught between protection of human rights and the changing pattern of organised crimes against state.
Dwelling upon his experiences as a lawyer, he called upon the legal luminaries to exercise themselves and provide a lasting equitable solution.
