Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Nov 24 (UNI) Renowned classical vocalist Ustad Rashid Khan today said passion for easy and quick earning was forcing the new generation not to opt for the classical music.

''Fusion is confusion'' and won't last for long while Indian classical music would contiue to mesmerise music lovers as it has been made popular across the world due to the key role played by Pt Bhimsen Joshi and Pt Jasraj.

Addressing a news conference ahead of his inaugural performance at the Ellora Ajanta Festival here this evening, Ustad Rashid Khan said even today he had seen more than 20,00 classical music lovers attending the 'Savai Gandharva Festival,' and claimed it as a direct answer to the people unnecessarily worried about the future of classical music.

Ustad Rashid Khan, who belongs to a particular style of the Rampur Sahaswan Gharana and is known as a master of Khayal and Tarana, pointed out that there has been a great exposure to the new classical singers in today's age but was sad to note that the youth were not much inclined towards classical music.
