Follow on Sir Chhotu's footsteps: Hooda

Gohana, Sonepat, Nov 24 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today called upon the people to emulate the principles propagated by Deen Bandhu Sir Chhotu Ram, who championed the cause of the poor people and worked for the emancipation of the labourers and the peasantry.

While addressing a gathering after unveiling the statue of Sir Chhotu Ram at Gohana on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great nationalist, the Chief Minister said the great leader's life was an inspiration for him.

Later, while interacting with the media persons, he said that he had elicited the views of the farmers regarding the acquisition of their lands for setting up Rajiv Gandhi Education City at Sonepat, and all their problems had been resolved.

Mr Hooda assured that no injustice would be meted out to the farmers and their interests would be fully protected by the Government which was committed for their betterment.

To a question about the criticism of the government by the Member of Parliament Kuldeep Bishnoi and possibility of formation of a new party by former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, he said ''empty vessels make much sound.'' Mr Hooda said that a large public gathering would be organized soon at Gohana to redress the grievances of the people. He assured that no efforts would be spared for the development of Gohana, which he claimed had remained neglected during the past regimes.
