Decision on NCP after Thiruvambadi bypoll: CPI (M)
Kozhikode, Nov 24 (UNI) A decision on the continuance of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) in Kerala would be taken after the December 4 Thiruvambadi bypoll, CPI (M) State Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan today said.
Talking to newspersons after a meeting of the party state secretariat here, he said the coalition partners would deliberate in detail about the political scenario after the merger of Democratic Indira Congress (Karnakaran) with the NCP before taking a final decsion.
On the NCP's proposal to conduct parallel electioneering in the constituency, he said it would not in any way adversely impact the prospects of the LDF candidate in the bypoll.
He expressed confidence of LDF retaining the seat as there was no major change in the political situation in the constituency after LDF assuming office six months ago.
The bypoll was caused by the death of CPI (M) member Mathai Chacko.
