Congress will win both bypolls : Digvijay

Visakhapatnam, Nov 24 (UNI) All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Digvijay Singh today expressed confidence the party will win both Karimnagar and Bobbili seats in the byelection in Andhra Pradesh on December four.

Addressing newspersons here, he said the Congress would not support the Private Member's Bill on separate Telangana, which the BJP was planning to introduce in Parliament.

He said the state government had initiated lot of development projects for Telangana, including implementation of irrigation projects. The people had faith in the Congress party and they were gearing up to meet all the challenges, he added.

On the controversy over the warning sign on beedi packets, he said the issue was raked up by the TRS and pointed out that it was TRS President K Chandrasekhra Rao who ratified the related G O, when he was the Union Minister of Labour. The Congress would come out unscathed from the slew of allegations being made against it, he added.

He along with senior Congress leaders Iqbal Singh and APCC President K Keshava Rao addressed an election meeting in Bobbili last evening.
