BRM and MNS activists hold demonstrations

Beed, Maharashtra, Nov 24 (UNI) Activists of Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh (BBM) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) today held demonstrations in front of the Collectorate here against the massacre of four members of a Dalit family at Khairlanji in Vidarbha's Bhandara district.

BBM activists, led by party's National Vice-President Hanumant Upre and MNS activists led by their district organiser Ashok Tayade, demanded immediate arrest of the accused in the massacre and insisted on registering of offence against the District Collector and Divisional Comissioner of the region under whose jurisdiction innocent dalits of Bhotmange family were killed in September last.

The activists also condemned Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil for the failure of his government in protecting dalits in the State.

The police detained about a hundred agitators and released them after registering an offence against them.
