Bhavika wins Under-12 AITA tennis series

Chandigarh, Nov 24 (UNI) Shreya Malhotra of Delhi went down fighting to Bhavika Wadhawan of Chandigarh in the girls Under-12 singles final of the AITA Talent Tennis Series which concluded at the CLTA Stadium here today.

Bhavika won 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 against the Delhi girl.

Mandeep Singh Gill of Chandigarh outplayed a CLTA Rural Scheme trainee Chandam Shaolin in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 in the boys Under-18 singles final.

Noor Paul wore the girls Under-18 singles crown at the expense of Poorna whom she beat 7-6 (6), 6-3 in an all-Chandigarh final.

Results (all finals) Boys U-18 singles: Mandeep Singh Gill (Chd) bt Chandam Shaolin (Chd) 6-2, 6-0. Boys U-12: Digvijay Singh Naruka(Chd) bt Nischay Rawal(Chd) 6-1, 6-2.

Girls Under-18 singles: Noor Paul (Chd) bt Poorna (Chd) 7-6 (6), 6-3.

Girls U-12 singles: Bhavika Wadhawan (Chd) bt Shreya Malhotra (Del) 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 Boys U-12 doubles: Digvijay Singh Naruka (Chd)&Kamal Kishore Maderana(Raj) bt Ayush Mintri (Pb)&Pankaj Kumar(Chd) 6-4,6-1.

Girls Under-18 doubles: Noor Paul (Chd)&Shilpa Naruka(Chd) bt Ankita Singh(Chd)&Poorna (Chd) 6-2,6-1.

Boys U-18 doubles: Chandam Shaolin(Chd)&Digvijay Singh Mehta (HP) bt Inderjot Singh (Pb)&Santosh Ghatage (Mah) 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.
