AP CM directs officials to suspend corrupt employees
Kadapa, Nov 24 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today directed the officials concerned to suspend employees committing irregularities in the allocation of houses to the poor under the INDIRAMMA scheme.
Talking to reporters here on the sidelines of the district development review meeting, Dr Reddy said the government would take stringent action against the officials, who failed to discharge their duties in providing houses to the poor.
The government was committed to provide 1.10 lakh houses to the poor under the INDIRAMMA programme by the end of March 2007, he said.
Stating that water for irrigation would be provided to three lakh acres in Kadapa and Chittoor district from Galeru-Nagari Sujala Sravanthi canal, the Chief Minister said water would also be supplied to 1.50 lakh additional acres through micro-irrigation system in the two districts.
