Puducherry, Nov 24 (UNI) AIADMK state Secretary A.Anbazhagan MLA today demanded that the administration must make its stand clear on setting up satellite towns here.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr. Anbazhagan said the satellite town scheme figured in the budget speech of Chief Minister who announced that it would acquire 900 acres of land at Kombakkam, Reddiyarpalayam and Arumparthapuram. There was widespread opposition to this from different political parties.

Later, there was no word about it and the farmers were confused and selling their lands at a low rate.

The Chief Minister should announce the stand of the government on the proposed scheme, he added.

Mr Anbazhagan also pointed out that even though the name of Pondicherry was changed to Puducherry, some revenue officals were still writing it as Pondicherry, creating confusion among the people.
