1 NSCN-IM cadre killed in factional clash

Kohima, Nov 24 (UNI) A NSCN-IM cadre was killed and a NSCN(K) cadre injured during the inter-factional clash between both the rival factions at Old Chalkot village under Nagaland's Peren district yesterday.

Official sources said the clash took place after the NSCN(K) cadres went on to attack the NSCN-IM camp in the village area.

The NSCN-IM sources have admitted that one of their cadre was killed and claimed that one NSCN(K) cadre was injured.

Meanwhile, the Zeliangrong Baudi, the apex traditional body of the Zeliangrong tribes, had condemned the factional clashes in the civilian areas and appealed to them to move out of the civilian areas.

The security personnel and police have been deployed in the village for security of the villagers, sources said.
