Two naxals killed in police encounter
Ambikapur, Nov 23 (UNI) Police claimed to have killed two naxals in an encounter last night in forests at Manikpur area in Chhattisgarh's Sarguja district, police said today.
Inspector General of Police Amarnath Upadhyay and Balrampur Superintendent of Police S R P Kalluri said CPI(Maoists) Lalbahadur and Sanjay Singh were shot dead. Both hailed from Jharkhand.
On a tip-off, police cordoned off the ultras. Both sides exchanged fire with naxals firing 600 rounds, while police fired 400 rounds.
The naxals were led by Rahul Singh and Ram Singh.
Police claimed that some extremists were injured in the incident.
No police casualty occurred.
