Stalin inaugurates welfare schemes

Vellore, Tamil Nadu, Nov 23 (UNI) Local Administration Minister M K Stalin today inaugurated several welfare schemes and laid the foundation stone for the Rs 30 crore underground drainage scheme here today.

In his address, Mr Stalin said the DMK Government was keen on fulfilling its election promises.

Immediately on assuming office, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi signed files pertaining to three election promises.

He also restored the training assistance of Rs 45 given to women's self-help groups besides extending the revolving fund of Rs 10,000 given to these groups to urban areas.

He also recalled the free colour television scheme and said 25 lakh TVs would be distributed.
