Seven die in accident

Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Nov 23 (UNI) At least seven persons, including a woman, died on the spot, while seven others sustained injuries, five of them seriously, when a jeep carrying them collided head-on by a state transport bus near Sihore town on Bhavnagar-Rajot highway this morning.

According to the police sources here, the accident took place around 1030 hours when the driver of the jeep lost control and it was hit by a speeding bus of Gujarat State Road and Transport Corporation (GSRTC) from opposite direction.

Of the seven injured, five seriously injured persons were shifted to civil hospital at Bhavnagar, while two others were being treated at local health centre at Sihore town.

The jeep was plying between Bhavnagar and Palitana, while the bus was going from Palitana to Vallabhbhipur.

Among the seven deceased, four have been identified as Majidbhai Mohammedbhai(43), Firozbhai, Vishnuparvat Kailashparvat Bavaji (38) and his sister Varsha (22).

Police has registered a case and further investigations are on.
