Seven Bangladeshi burglars arrested

New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) The Delhi Police have arrested seven criminals of Bangladeshi origin from different parts of Delhi.

Three Bangladeshis were arrested from Chandni Chowk on November 20 after they had looted a gold merchant of 630 gm of gold jewellery and Rs 1.5 lakh cash after cutting his bag.

The three accused - Mohd Salim, Mohd Kurbaan and Munir Hussain - confessed to involvement in earlier incidents of bag cutting.

Stolen cash and jewellery worth Rs seven lakh was recovered from them, police said.

In another incident, the police arrested four Bangladeshi burglars, belonging to a gang active in East and South West Delhi, from Sarojini Nagar, Shakarpur, Noida and Sarita Vihar.

The leader of the gang Jahangir was arrested from Sarojini Nagar, along with his accomplice Afzaal, for his involvement in five cases of house burglary. His interrogation led the police to other members of the gang and one receiver of the stolen property.

With the arrested gangters, police claim to have solved 15 cases of burglary in Delhi.
