Rupee opens higher by four paise at 44.75/76
Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) The rupee today opened higher by four paise and was quoted at Rs 44.75/76 per US dollar as compared to it's previous close of Rs 44.79/80 per US dollar, due to lack of fresh buying support of the dollar by bankers, traders said.
Later, the domestic currency fluctuated in a narrow range between 44.72 and 44.76 during the mid morning session, on account of short-covering by local dealers, and is now trading higher by ten paise, at Rs 44.72/73 per USD from it's previous close, due to increased selling of the dollar by foreign and nationalised banks, traders added.
