Rajapakse to visit India from November 25
New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajpakse will hold discussions with the Indian leadership on the progress in the peace talks with the LTTE and also the current political situation in the island nation during his visit to India from November 25.
Mr Rajpakse, will also attend the first Asian Mayors' Conference being held in Dehradun on November 26 and 27, High Commission sources said.
During his stay in the capital, the Sri Lankan President will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and other leaders. He will also attend the wedding reception of Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar's daughter on November 27.
The President is scheduled to retun on November 29.
Sri Lankan Leader of Opposition Ranil Wickremesinghe is also visiting Delhi on November 29, the sources said.
