PM, Sonia pay tributes to Maran

New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi paid floral tributes to late Union Minister Murasoli Maran, who championed the cause of India and other developing nations at the WTO talks, on his third death anniversary here today.

Several political leaders also attended a function and offered flowers at the portrait of Maran at the DMK party office in the Parliament House.

Meanwhile, DMK sources said a bronze statue of Mr Maran was likely to be installed in the Parliament House soon. The statue was already ready in Chennai and would be brought here in a few weeks.

Mr Maran was DMK Parliamentary Party leader for several years.
