Petition to recover dues from KPCC

Kochi, Nov 23 (UNI) A writ petition was filed by PWD contractors S Janardhanan and S Kumar before the Kerala High Court today seeking a direction to the State Government to recover the amount due from the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) to the petitioners.

According to the petitioners, they were directed to erect barricades as part of providing security during the visit of Congress President Sonia Gandhi to the State for election campaign in April last.

They told the Court that they undertook the work as per the assurance given by the General Administration Secreatary and Executive Engineer of the PWD that the amount would be paid by the KPCC.

The petitioners sought a direction to the State Government for recovering the amount totalling Rs 6,85,559 from the KPCC President.

Mr Justice C N Ramachandran posted the case for instruction from the State Government.
