MPCC apoligises for publishing booklet

Aizawl, Nov 22 (UNI) Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) today apologised to the state judicial officer K L Liana for releasing a booklet containing articles written by him in newspapers regarding misuse of the famine combat fund.

Liana, in a letter to MPCC president Lalthanhawla on Monday, had demanded an unconditional apology from the party for releasing his write-ups in the political booklet.

MPCC chief Lalthanhawla released the booklet, 'Baffacos leh K L Liana' at Congress Bhavan, where it had been described as how the the Bamboo flowering and famine combat funds (BAFFACOS) were being misused.

Mr Liana, who is vocal against corruption, was issued transfer orders after the state kept in abeyance its decision to separate the judiciary from the executive.

However, MPCC said he had been transferred because of his articles.

The MPCC had allegedly made some additions in the booklet in an endeavour to gain political mileage.
