Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) A local court was today not able to record statement of witness for the second consecutive day in a fake passport case, involving underworld don Abu Salem and his girlfriend, who is also a starlet.

The recording of statement of naib tahsildar Maksood could not take place because concerned record from the municipal corporation was not presented before the Judicial Magistrate Dinesh Kumar Dangi's court.

Monica was not present in court today.

Meanwhile, the court quashed an application by defence on having a separate court case registered against Monica, while arguments on an application by prosecution regarding making Siraj a government witness will be heard tomorrow.

On November 28, 2001, a case was registered at the Koh-i-Fiza Police Station against Salem, Samira and Monica for having fake passports made at the regional passport office using the names Danish Baig, Rubina Baig and Fauzia Osman respectively.

Monica was brought amid tight security from Hyderabad to Bhopal on October 12 for hearing in the case. The court had directed to produce Salem before it on December 15 in the same case.
