Life to three for murder of man

Tiruvallur, Nov 23 (UNI) A fast track court here today awarded life sentence to three people - a woman, her paramour and his friend, in connection with a murder case.

Fast Track court Judge Ms A S Hassina convicted and awarded life to Jayanthi (24), her paramour Prabu (22) and his friend Lakshmanan for murdering Jayanthi's husband Gunasekaran in November 2004.

The judge imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on the three, after holding the prosecution had established the case beyond reasonable doubt.

The prosecution case was that Jayanthi, after developing an illicit relationship with Prabu, hailing from Tiruchirapalli, had conspired and murdered her husband.

While Lakshmanan, also from Tiruchirapalli, covered the face of the deceased with a towel, Prabu killed him, using deadly weapons.

The murder was plotted by Jayanthi, the prosecution said.
