Gurusamy gets police security
Mysore, Nov 23 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) candidate for the Chamundeswari Assembly byelection A S Guruswamy has lodged a police complaint after receiving threat calls, following which the police today provided him security till the election process ends.
Mr Guruswamy, who had filed the nomination papers as a JD(U) candidate at the eleventh hour after the JD(S) denied him a ticket, complained that since the last two days, particularly after the last date for withdrawal of nominations, unidentified persons were making telephone calls to his residence and threatening to kill him if he did not retire from the election contest.
Speaking to UNI here, Mr Gurusamy said an unidentified person even came to his house last night and shouted that he would have to face dire consequences if he did not retire from the election.
