Guru, Azmi issues force RS adjournment till tomorrow
New Delhi, Nov 23 (UNI) The issues of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru and Samajwadi Party MP Abu Azmi forced adjournment of the Rajya Sabha for the second time today, this time till tomorrow, as BJP and SP members shouted slogans and did not allow the House to function.
As soon as the House re-assembled at 1200 hrs after the first adjournment, SP members shouted slogans and marched into the well of the House demanding release of Azmi, who was arrested in Mumbai for staging a rally despite ban orders.
The SP members also alleged that the Centre was planning to destabilise the Mulayam Singh government in Uttar Pradesh on the law and order issue which they claimed was ''perfect''.
BJP members were demanding immediate hanging of Afzal Guru, who has been sentenced to death in the Parliament attack case.
The din continued for ten minutes following which Deputy Chairman Rahman Khan adjourned the House till tomorrow.
Amid the pandemonium, Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy laid on the table of the House the National Capital Region Planning Board Act, 1985.
