Ganesh idol stolen from 300 year-old temple

Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu Nov 23 (UNI) A Ganesh idol was stolen from the ancient 'Karunai Vinyakar' temple here last night by robbers.

Police said the theft was discovered by the poojari, who opened the temple this morning and found the idol missing. He immediately asked the temple administrative officer Madanagopal to lodge a complaint with the police station in Chinna Kancheepuram.

One of the legs of the idol was found dropped in the temple.

Police rushed to the temple with fingerprint experts and began investigation into the robbery.
