Gadkari all set to get second term
Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) Maharashtra BJP president Nitin Gadkari is all set to get re-elected as the president of Maharashtra BJP for the second term as he is the only one, who filed for the post today.
Formal announcement to this effect will be made tomorrow during the state council convention in the metropolis. Party vice president Venkaiah Naidu will be present as the central observer while former Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is the returning officer.
Apart from the president, 48 members of the national council will be elected on the same day. The state council convention will be attended by nearly 600 delegates from all over the state.
Meanwhile, talking to reporters BJP leader Gopinath Munde admitted that the party's results in the civic elections was not upto the expectations but said that the party would do well in corporation and Zilla Parishad elections.
He said the Sena BJP alliance will be there in corporation elections also and barring Congress, NCP and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, the BJP would try to work out understanding.
