Front resort to demonstration against Radhika on 'Coke' issue

Chennai, Nov 23 (UNI) Members of the New Democratic Workers Front (NDWF) led by their President A Mukudan, staged a slogan-shouting demonstration in front of the office of the popular film actor Radhika's film production unit here today, protesting against her apperance in an advertisement seeking peoples' support to drink 'Coke and Pepsi' Cola.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Mukundan said despite the scientists declaring that consumption Coke and Pepsi would hamper the health of the people, Ms Radhika Sarathkumar's support to the soft drinks should be condemned vehemently.

He cited the example of popular Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, who had earlier appeared in the same advertisement on television but withdrew from it, following vigorous protests from the public on the issue and despite the Coke and Pepsi Cola's threats to file defamation suit against him.

He urged the actress to withdraw her support to the advertisement, pertaining to Coke and Pepsi, failing which the Front would intensify their stir.
