DMK stages agitation demanding increase in water level
Coimbatore, Nov 23 (UNI) The traffic along the inter-state road connecting Tamil Nadu and Kerala came to a halt today, when Dravidra Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) activists staged a 'road roko' demanding increase in water-level in Mullaperiyar Dam.
Police said as many as 200 DMK activists, including five women led by DMK District Secretary Veeragopal staged 'road roko' at K G Chavadi near Madukkarai, disrupting traffic for three hours.
Traffic at the entry point to Tamil Nadu from Kerala was also disrupted following an agitation by DMK activists.
The agitationists also raised slogans against Kerala Government, police added.
