Devotee offers Rs 8 lakh gold crown to Goddess Padmavathi

Tirupati, Nov 23 (UNI) An anonymous devotee from this temple town offered a gold crown worth Rs eight lakh to Goddess Padmavathi in Tiruchanoor, near here.

Weighing 738 gm, the crown was handed over to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Executive Officer A P V N Sarma inside the temple last evening.

The crown adorned the 'utsavamurthi' of the Goddess during the 'Garuda Vahanam' held here yesterday as part of the six-day Karthika Brahmotsavam.
