Copper, brass cuttings rises on heavy industrial demand

Mumbai, Nov 23 (UNI) Copper and brass cutting in ferrous metal rose on heavy industrial demand along with London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In the ferrous category, copper heavy and brass cuttings shot up by Rs 500 each per quintal while brass utensils rose by Rs 200 per quintal and copper utensils and aluminium utensils went up by Rs 100 each per quintal on increase of fresh demand.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars also shot up by Rs 1,000 per quintal while aluminium ingots hiked by Rs 200 per quintal on reduced stock supply.

Nickel cathode went up by Rs ten per kg on improved demand.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,500, copper utensils - Rs 31,100, brass utensils - Rs 22,300, brass cuttings - Rs 26,500 and aluminium utensils - Rs 10,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,500, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, zinc slab - Rs 23,200, lead ingots - Rs 7,800, tin slab - Rs 580 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,780 (per kg).
