Candle light protest in support of farmers

Hyderabad, Nov 23 (UNI) In support of farmers in distress, members of the Centre for Sustained Agriculture organised a ''Candlelight Shraddhanjali'' here tonight.

Thronging the picturesque tank bund, the activists shouted ''save farmers, support farming.'' Over 1.5 lakh farmers had committed suicide across the country in the last decade or so and there was no let up in the spate of sucides due to intensifying anti-farmer environment, claimed the activists and demanded immediate government intervention to arrest the trend by addressing the basic causes of such distress.
