BJP urges CEO to provide MLC voters lists

Hyderabad, Nov 23 (UNI) The BJP in Andhra Pradesh today urged the Chief Electoral Officer to immediately provide voters list of Member of Legislative Council (MLC).

In a letter to the CEO, BJP state president Bandaru Dattatraya pointed out that of the 21 districts, only three district presidents had received MLC voters list and 18 district president were anxiously waiting for the voters list for further enrolment.

In the case of General Voters list also only eight district presidents had received voters list and 12 district president were yet to get it, he said.

As per the decision taken by the Election Commissioner at a meeting of all political parties, they promised to send the MLC lists before November 21 and in case of General Voters before November 18.

The district machinery was not in a position to fulfil constitutional obligation, the BJP leader said in his letter.
