Bhopal and Indore to have first private FM radio
Bhopal, Nov 23 (UNI) The first private FM radio in Bhopal and Indore will go on air next year.
''RKDF group of educational institutions has been allotted a license for the purpose,'' its chairman Dr Sunil Kapoor told newsmen here.
He said all related formalities were being completed to ensure its commissioning within six months.
A no profit-no loss venture, the FM radio would meet the educational needs of students in professional institutions particularly those in engineering and medical fields through guest lectures and specialists' lectures besides offering job placement details and details of paper presentation, specific sports and cultural activities.
The FM radio, he pointed out, will initially function for twelve hours a day, from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs. It will be manned by technically trained professionals with full involvement of students.
It will have an output capacity of 50 W and cover a range of 60-km crowfly distance.
Dr Kapoor said the RKDF had taken the decision to enter the electronic field in keeping with its new approach to move with the needs of changing times.
