AG Haryana beat AG HP in Audit Hockey

Chandigarh, Nov 23 (UNI) AG Haryana thrashed AG Himachal Pradesh by 5-2 in a quarter-final match of the North Zone Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IA&AD) Hockey Tournament here today.

AG Haryana took lead in the 10th minute when Ajit Pal Singh scored a field goal. Gurmeet Singh struck twice in 17th and 25th minutes to increse the lead to 3-0. Few seconds before half time Gaurav helped AG Haryana lead 4-0 at half time.

On resumption AG HP's Shambu Sharma got two quick goals (34th and 41st minutes) to reduce the margin. Then Gurmeet of AG Punjab guided the ball into goal to help his team win by 5-2.

AG Uttar Pradesh got walkover against AG Jammu and Kashmir as latter did not turn up. Holders AG Punjab will take on AG Haryana in the first semi-final while Delhi Audit will clash with AG UP in the second semi-final.

Earlier, R P Singh, (IAAS), Principal Accountant General (Audit), Punjab and Union Territory, Chandigarh inaugurated the three-day tourney.
