US and other peace-makers praise India on its role in Srilanka
Washington, Nov 22 (UNI) The United States and other major countries engaged in efforts to end Sri Lankan civil war have expressed their gratefulness to the "responsible role" India is playing in the strife-torn island nation.
US Under Secretary of State Nicholas Burns, who hosted the meeting of the Co-Chairs of the Tokyo Donors Conference, comprising Norway, the US, the European Union and Japan, said they met the Deputy Chief of Indian Mission in Washington RS Jassal and briefed him on the results of their deliberations.
Mr Burns said the Co-Chairs also sought from Mr Jassal the views and support of the Indian government in achieving their mission in the civil war ravaged country.
