2 militants killed, 2 OGW workers in custody
Jammu, Nov 22: Two Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants, including a Pakistan-trained commander, were killed by security forces in Doda while two over ground workers (OGW) were apprehended in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir last evening, army sources said here today.
Army and police sources said based on specific information, a search operation was carried out by security forces at Kaonu, South West of Banihal in Doda district last evening.
Security forces said the militants were killed in an encounter.
One of the militants has been identified as Farid Gujjar alias Arif Tunda, a Pakistan trained terrorist and Section Commander of HM Tanzeem, sources said.
The other slain militant is yet to be identified.
Security forces have recovered one AK-47 rifle and one radio set from the slain militants, sources added.
In another incident, security forces have apprehended two over ground workers -- Kamardin and Mohammad Ashraf -- at Shajru area, South East of Mahore. They have been handed over to Mahore Police Station for interrogation.
