The NCP for a third front in Uttaranchal
Hardwar, Nov 22 (UNI) The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) favours formation of a third front, including the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) and the Left parties, against the Congress and the BJP in the coming state assembly elections, according to NCP Uttaranchal unit President Suryakant Dhasmana.
Mr Dhasmana told reporters were last evening that the people of the state were fed up with the divisive policies and the passive role of the BJP as the main opposition party in the state and the misrule of the state Congress government. They were looking for an alternative to these two parties.
He said the party would field candidates on 40 assembly seats.
"Considering our cordial relations with the Congress at the Centre, the party, after the assembly elections, will prefer to enter into a coalition with the Congress", he added.
