Terror threat: security beefed up at Sagar Dam in AP
Hyderabad, Nov 22 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government has beefed up security at the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam following Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil's statement, MADE IN New Delhi this morning, that THE Laskar-e-Taiba was planning to blast the Dam and other important projects.
According to official sources here, the Special Protection Force (SPF) have been deployed to strengthen security and check find out the extremists' movements and check their activities at the Dam.
Round-the-clock special check posts were set up to monitor vehicular traffic on the Dam. The SPF was asked to remain vigilant.
Considering the increased threat to irrigation projects from extremist outfits, the Government had also decided to strengthen security around the structures.
