Sugar prices drift lower on poor demand
Mumbai, Nov 22 (UNI) Sugar prices drifted lower on poor demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association today siad.
Sugar in small grade declined by Rs eight per quintal on thin buying support while medium grade went up by Rs five per quintal, on lesser stock supply.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades eased by Rs five and Rs six per quintal, respectively, on lack of fresh demand.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,711/1,762, Medium grade: Rs 1,752/1,812, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,690/1,710, Medium grade: Rs 1,720/1,750.
