Social worker shot dead

Varanasi, Nov 22 (UNI) A social worker was shot dead by unidentified criminals at his house in Sunderpur locality here today.

Police said motorcycle-borne criminals shot Arun Bansal -- the founder president of Hey Kashi voluntary organisation -- at his house under Lanka police station area.

Police suspects the killing to be the fallout of inter-gang rivalry, as for the last few months Mr Bansal had been linked to a particular mafia group.

Investigations were on.
