Six policemen sent to lines
Badwani, MP, Nov 22 (UNI) Six policemen were caught on camera while illegally collecting money from commuters at the Agra Mumbai National Highway in this district, police said today.
The sting operation was conducted by the police in a bid to cleanse the police department in view of complaints of illegal collection of money and other irregularities.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Nimad range) Vipin Maheshwari said some policemen posted at Julwania checkpost were sent to lines one-and-half-months ago following complaints of irregularities.
Since complaints kept pouring despite strict directions, video recording was carried out by sending a special team.
On the basis of a compact disc (CD), presented to the Badwani Superintendent of Police in this regard, six policemen from Julwania, Veejasan, Sendhwa (rural) and Sendhwa (urban) checkposts were sent to lines.
He said action would be taken against Station House Officers and the sting operations will continue.
