Singapore airlines launches cabin suite

Chennai, Nov 22: The Singapore Airlines today launched its latest cabin suite, which is set to be the new Industry benchmark for premium air travel.

Talking to newspersons here, Mr Foo Chai Woo, Geneal Manager (India), Singapore Airlines, said the 360-million dollor product and service development programme marks the completion of an extensive four-year project and was timed to coincide with the carrier's fleet expansion plan. Under the expansion plan, the airlines will add Boeing 777-300ER (extended range) and the Airbus A380 join the fleet.

Mr Woo added the suite was designed to deliver the most luxurious and stylish travel experiences.

The customers traveling on Singapore Airlines new B777-300ER services from next month, between Singapore and Paris and subsequently, Zurich would be the first to experience these new products.

He said the company would deliver first B777-300 ER by the end of the month and orders were placed for 19 similar aircrafts, out of which ten would be operational by middle of next year. Efforts were on to operate flight services between Singapore and tier-two Indian cities.

Bharat Mahadevan, Manager, Southern India Singapore Airlines, said they were now operating 47 flights per week between Singapore to Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Amritsar.
