Security forces conduct search in Srinagar

Srinagar, Nov 22 (UNI) Business and other activities came to halt in the busy Court Road, nerve centre of the summer capital in Jammu and Kashmir, when security forces and police conducted search operation this afternoon.

The entire area was sealed and all those present in the cordoned off area were directed to stand in a queue.

Shopkeepers, customers and pedestrians were frisked and their identity cards checked before they were allowed to go.

This is the second time security forces and police jointly conducted search operation in the civil line area during the past one week.

Official sources said that there was an intelligence input that militants may strike in the civil line area. No one was arrested during the operation, official sources said.

Two police personnel were killed by the militants in the civil line area last month.
