The production at 1142.5 MW Satpuda power plant dropped to 800 MW as a result.

The plant's Chief Engineer K S Thakur told UNI that the six number unit will remain close till December 10.

He said replacing all the coils of the 27-year-old generator will cost Rs 11 crore and the unit will remain close for six months.

In view of present electricity crisis, only one coil would be replaced at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. BHEL engineers had been called to replace the coil.
