Sarni's 200 MW plant closed
Betul, MP, Nov 22 (UNI) A 200 MW-unit of the Sarni-based Satpuda Thermal Power Plant was closed today when the stator coil of its generator burst.
The production at 1142.5 MW Satpuda power plant dropped to 800 MW as a result.
The plant's Chief Engineer K S Thakur told UNI that the six number unit will remain close till December 10.
He said replacing all the coils of the 27-year-old generator will cost Rs 11 crore and the unit will remain close for six months.
In view of present electricity crisis, only one coil would be replaced at a cost of Rs 35 lakh. BHEL engineers had been called to replace the coil.
